Coach Nagle was pleased, saying "it was a good first day... they capitalized on their chances... The new Stony Brook University seal modernizes the current seal and preserves the two prominent existing design elements: the rays and the stars.

The Campus Recreation Center is a 90,000 square foot facility between Pritchard Gymnasium and the Student Union, which will house a three–court gymnasium, a multipurpose indoor arena, an exercise room, dance studios, and offices.
