-Erika Karp of the Times Beacon Record reported on a plan to redevelop downtown Stony Brook, including the one mile strip of Route 25A that abuts the main campus near the train station.

President Stanley said: "I think it's something that's been missing from the campus probably since the beginning. To have community involvement right from the beginning, I think is critical to get this kind of thing happening."

The plan to redevelop Route 25A is intended to connect the university and the surrounding community, including bringing in new businesses, restaurants, offices and retail stores.

-Inside Lacrosse reported that the Canadian Lacrosse Association published a roster for the 2012 Duel in Denver, an exhibition match between US and Canadian national teams in Colorado. Jordan McBride '11, Kevin Crowley '11, and Robbie Campbell '12 played for Team Canada in the 2012 Duel in Denver, where they defeated the US National Team.
