-SB Radio Sports assembled a Year in Review for the 2011/2012 seasons, underscoring SB Athletics' top ten best moments of the year:

1. SB Baseball team advances to the College World Series; 9 players drafted by MLB; four All America selections;
Matt Senk named Coach Of The Year by NCBWA
2. SB Football advances through first two rounds of NCAA FCS playoffs to face #1 Sam Houston State
3. SB Track and Field star Lucy Van Dalen '12 named America East Woman Of The Year;
breaks SB record in 1500m event; qualifies for Olympics; named All America 6 times; first ever SB individual national title
4. LaValle Stadium hosts capacity crowds at 2012 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship
5. The Dubin Family Athletic Performance Center opens on campus after lacrosse alumnus Glenn Dubin '79 donates $4.3M to the university
6. Dallas Joyner '12 scores a buzzer-beater to defeat Albany and send SB Basketball to AE Finals; SB Basketball plays
in Europe and at Madison Square Garden
7. SB Men’s Lacrosse wins the AE Title but falls in NCAA tournament to Johns Hopkins
8. The SB Arena officially begins $21 million dollar renovations after hosting nationally televised SB

After only a dozen years at the Division I level, SB sports have become prominent on a national scale.


-SB Athletics reported on the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup (formerly known as the Sears Cup) and the Capital One Cup, with SB sports placing at an all-time high in each:

SB's 2011/2012 banner year included:
-9 conference championships
-6 national postseason appearances
-1 individual national champion in women's track & field
-SB Baseball's run to the College World Series
-1 national player of the year
-1 national coach of the year
-3 first-team All Americans
-10 conference players of the year
-8 conference coaches of the year
-3 conference rookies of the year
-71 total All Conference selections
-190 student athletes on the AE Honor Roll (for achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher)
-6 individually honored as the AE Scholar-Athletes of the Year
-1 Capital One Academic All-American


In 2012, LaValle Stadium hosted its first ever national championship, the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Final Four.


-The America East reported on the 2012 Haskell Cup, which annually recognizes the strongest athletic program in the America East. In 2012, SB sports won 5 conference titles, swept the regular-season and tournament in Men’s Lacrosse and Baseball, and became the first AE program to advance to the College World Series. SB also won titles in Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Lacrosse and Women’s Tennis, the regular season title in Men’s Basketball, and was the runner-up in Men’s Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse, and Women's Volleyball.
