RECRUITING ROUNDUP (JUL11)

Rising high school senior Andrew Buron '16 scored 18G, 10A during his junior year at Duxbury HS, the Massachusetts State Champions. Click on the image above to watch footage of him playing.

"I wanted to choose a place that had both strong academics and lacrosse. Stony Brook I felt had the most to offer.... I recently visited the campus and loved it. I immediately knew I wanted to be a student there. Also Coach Nagle, who recently took the head coaching job, and the rest of the coaching staff are amazing and I am very excited to play for them."

Joe Lombardi of LaxLessons reported on SB Lacrosse receiving a commitment from rising senior Anthony Berardis '16 of Mahopac HS. Berardis, a 6'2'' lefty midfielder, lead the Indians to a Section 1 Class A title in 2011 and represented Hudson Valley in the 2010 Empire State Games as a sophomore. http://www.laxlessons.com/blog/2011/07/mahopacs-berardis-reflects-on-his-selection-of-stony-brook/


Anthony Berardis '16 said: "When I went for my visit, I automatically fell in love with the campus and facilities... SB has a great academic reputation and that I knew I wanted to play for Coach Nagle". Click on the image above to read an interview with Berardis.

Berardis made headlines in his junior season when he scored the game winning goal against Yorktown HS in two overtimes to seal the upset. Mahopac had not beaten Yorktown in 19 seasons. In 2011, he registered 27G, 20A, and 46GB from midfield.

-The Suffolk County Lacrosse Coaches Association named incoming midfielder Luke Miller '15 the recipient of the 2011 Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award. The award is given each year to
one All-Suffolk County athlete who best exemplifies courage, teamwork, skill and leadership. http://www.rayennersawardwinners.com/profile.php?id=43


Luke Miller '15 represented Long Island in the 2010 Empire State Games and was named All County in 2011. His older brother Matt won the award as well in 2002.
